The Shoemaker’s Children Have No Shoes

I’m too busy developing amazing things for my clients to complete my own website. This blog is going to have to do for a little while. I’ll be adding screenshots and code examples in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, contact me for web development services!

Some fun JQuery work for a San Francisco communications agency

A San Francisco-based communications agency hired me (through CreativeCircle.com) for  a few hours of work to assist their in-house Drupal developer in completing their new website.

Home page

My Role:

Create a custom JQuery plugin to create a slideshow of content generated by Drupal 7.

Description:

The script counts the number of slides and then generates the slide nav at the bottom-right.

There are dozens of existing plugins that do the same thing but because of the way the markup was structured by Drupal, I was asked to create a custom script.

 About the Employees page

My Role:

Create Jquery script for revealing content

Description:

Hovering over the image reveals the person’s name & title. Clicking the image activates an overlay with a full bio. There are 2 sizes of overlays – one for full bios for the leadership positions and one for short bios.

NOTE: I recommended making this more mobile-friendly but the client preferred this route.
